Have you ever felt like you were being watched or followed as you walked from one place to another? Well, that's exactly how my son felt right before he was assaulted.
He heard someone walking behind him and he did exactly as we always told him - he turned around to face his follower. The follower stopped. My son turned back around to continue walking, then suddenly was hit on the back of his head which caused him to fall foward on concrete. Five to six others got out of a vehicle and joined in hitting and kicking my son. Luckily, he sustained to serious injuries.
In this case, if he would have attempted to use Pepper Spray Stream to deter his follower or attackers - the canister may have gotten in the wrong hands and may have been used against him.
That's why we believe so strongly that you must have options in your Personal Protection arsonal. These options depend on the different situations you may find yourself in, and don't necessarily need to cost an arm and a leg.
The use of a Personal Alarm would have drawn attention to my son's situation and could have prevented or shortened his attack, while a Pepper Spray Fogger may have also been effective. Because my son was attacked at dusk - he had difficulty identifying the perpetrators. A Tear Gas with UV Dye would have made this job alot easier for both him and the police officers.
They say "hindsight is 20/20" and this is so true! Learn from our mistakes - be proactive and think ahead - plan for what "could happen" and ways to prevent or escape from it.
You can no longer afford to be naive and live innocently in a perfect world.
